Ankara Light Rail Mass Transit System was put into service on August 30, 1996. Ankara Light Rail Mass Transport System (ANKARAY) is designed to respond to the increasing transportation demand of Ankara residents on the East-West axis (between Söğütözü and Dikimevi) of the city. It also meets the burden of increasing passenger demand on this route with the opening of AŞTİ.

Working on a 8.7 km route between Söğütözü and Dikimevi, ANKARAY consists of a total of 11 stations and a 100.000 m2 warehouse workshop area.

ANKARAY is at the service of Ankara residents from 25000:06 to 00:24 at night, with a capacity of carrying 00 passengers per hour in one direction.

ANKARAY operation; It is implemented according to a protocol between BUGSAŞ and EGO General Directorate. Ankaray Organization; 1 is Chief Executive Officer, 4 Manager and 22 Service Chief Engineer or Chief of Staff.
