İZBAN is one of the largest city-wide rail transportation systems in our country that provides services on the suburban line between Aliağa Selçuk and is connected to the airport of our country. The number of stations of the rapid transportation vehicle, which has tens of thousands of visitors every day, rose to 32 with the opening of Hilal, and then to 38 with the opening of the Torbalı line.

İZBAN, with its station number of 41 with the lines that were opened later, is the rail system that takes the heavy load of İzmir's public transportation. The line operated in cooperation with TCDD and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality 136 kilometers long.

İZBAN Transfer Stations

İZBAN Trains

The Spanish CAF company won thirty-three EMU train tenders held in March 2008. The trains began to arrive in Turkey in April 2010. İZBAN, which came into service on August 30, 2010, had twenty-four wagons at that time. Ten E2011 train sets were temporarily rented from TCDD in August 23000. In March 2012, it was purchased forty EMI train from the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem. Izmir people determined the design of these trains, which were announced to be delivered in three years. The number of İZBAN's current sets is 73 and the number of wagons is 219.

İZBAN train sets consist of three wagons, with a capacity of 2.250 people and can reach a maximum speed of 140 kilometers per hour. Train sets are 70 meters long, 2,95 meters wide and 3,85 meters high. Since the flights are made with double or triple sets, the length of the trains reaches at least 140 meters and maximum 210 meters. It has been announced that E32000 train sets with ten wagons produced for Marmaray will be used in İZBAN as of August 2017. It was announced that there would be seventy-five wagons, nine of which were double-decker, to be used.
