The Metropolitan Municipality responded to those who tried to distort the efforts to make Burulaş and Private Public Buses in Bursa compliant with the regulations by making false statements such as 'Turkish Flags are removed from the vehicles'. It was stated that the flags that do not comply with the principles specified in the Turkish Flag Law will be removed and the non-vehicle flag application will be implemented in accordance with the law.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality started implementation and inspections in order to make all public transportation vehicles comply with the regulation in line with the decision of Burulaş and Bursa Special Public Bus Drivers. Within the scope of the application, while all of the applications such as in-vehicle sound systems, interior lighting, curtains, all interior and exterior accessories that obstruct the view and prevent disabled access, air horns, window films, rim accessories and derivatives that affect traffic safety, 449 vehicles are in compliance with public transport regulations and safe has been made.

In addition, within the scope of the application, it is checked whether the Turkish Flags inside and outside the vehicle comply with the Turkish Flag Law No. 2893. In Article 7 of the Flags Law; “The Turkish Flag cannot be used in any way that would damage the spiritual value it deserves, torn, ripped, patchy, hole, dirty, pale, wrinkled or worthy. Except for official oath ceremonies, it cannot be laid on tables, podiums or covers for any purpose. It cannot be placed on places where you can sit or stand. While it is said that the shape of the flag cannot be made to these places and similar items ”, all Turkish Flags that violated this article were removed from the vehicles. The project of applying the Turkish Flags in accordance with the law to the exteriors of the vehicles in a standard manner has started.

Unsubstantiated claims

While some vehicle owners, who are not satisfied with the removal of their personal belongings that do not comply with the regulation, shared the issue on social media with unfounded and unrealistic statements in the form of an attack on the Turkish Flag, it was stated by the Metropolitan Municipality that the application was made to respect the Turkish Flag. In the statement; “Some vehicle owners who are not satisfied with the removal of their personal accessories inside and outside the vehicle in accordance with the principles and procedures set out in the Turkish Flag Law No. 2893, and those who want to benefit from this situation, have tried to make accusations against the Turkish Flag and to mislead the public. We regret these unfounded and unrealistic statements that try to damage the reputation of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Burulaş over the issue of Flag, which is the most sensitive of all of us, and we are ashamed to make this ugly policy made to damage the reputation over the Turkish flag ”
