Mersin Metro Line-1 Project, which Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer calls the vision project of the city in the field of transportation and has been working hard to implement for a long time, is the “AEC Excellence Awards 2020”, which is organized every year and is one of the most prestigious project and application competitions of the construction industry. and became a "finalist" by being among the last 3 projects. The project, which attracted great interest from qualified and reputable companies from abroad, this time announced the name of Mersin in the international arena in terms of design.

Mersin Metro Line-1 project, whose design work was carried out by Prota Mühendislik, was recently awarded a Prequalification Tender. 13 offers were submitted to the tender, which was broadcast live from social media accounts, with the participation of many companies, including domestic and foreign business partners.
Mersin Metro Line-1 project, designed with BIM, a design technology preferred in the world countries in recent years in the construction sector, managed to make it to the finals among 35 countries and 260 projects competing in this category. The design, which is completed in a very short time thanks to BIM technology, enables the solution of possible problems that may be encountered during the construction phase and thus minimizes construction costs.

The project and design studies were completed in a short period of 8 months in coordination with the project control unit of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Rail Systems Branch and Prota design teams. The project, with its aesthetic design and optimum engineering solutions, was highly appreciated by the jury and made it to the finals. Winning projects will be announced at the event, which will take place online on November 17th.
