“Our goal is to make our people easier to access”

Minister Arslan, Makyol construction site of the Istanbul New Airport and Hasdal connection is located on the eastern axis of the D-20 project, stating, gave the following information:

“As part of this project, we put the 14-kilometer hull into service as of the end of last year, as three departures and three arrivals, and we provided the connection of two existing roads to Çatalca, which was partial relief, including the Mahmutbey toll booths by the end of 2017. However, at the point where we are now, both the 14-kilometer main body, two 5,5-kilometer roads, two arrivals, two-way roads, and 16-kilometer two cross-bridge junction connections, as well as our 6-bridge junction that continues to work, are humorously It is continuing.

Within the scope of these works, 30 million cubic meters of excavation will be made, and a total of 6 viaducts of 418 thousand 13 meters will be completed. As we have many dry vents, one million 370 thousand tons of cold and hot asphalt mixture will be used only in this field. The total cost of all the projects I just listed is 1,5 billion liras. Our aim is to facilitate the connections of our new airport to the city center and to facilitate the access of our people. ”

Arslan said that all of this project will be completed in August and that the project has reached the level of 80.

“Until Büyükçekmece, it will be possible to go directly to TEM,”

Stating that Istanbul New Airport also continues to connect Büyükçekmece, TEM and E-5 in the direction of Çatalca, including Çatalca Ring Road, Arslan said, “Our progress here is also around 2 percent. Therefore, we will have finished it in August. Thus, our drivers, who use Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge from the Anatolian side, including the first stage of the Northern Marmara Motorway, will be able to go straight to Çatalca and directly to TEM, until Büyükçekmece. ” he spoke.

“We will have finished a third axis as of October”

Stating that Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge came to Odayeri with the first stage of North Marmara Motorway, Arslan shared the following information about the third connection road project:

“We will have completed the first phase of the 6-kilometer North Marmara Motorway from Odayeri to the airport, including 4 departures and 4 arrivals. Also, after completing another 4 kilometers, 4 departures, 6 arrivals and side roads at the end of October, when the airport is opened, it also connects the Northern Marmara Motorway, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, its connection to Mahmutbey, TEM, E-5 via Odayeri. we will have created. Thus, we will have completed a third axis by October. I would like to express with pleasure that you can see 26 lane roads next to the airport when you look from the top of these connections. You will see 26 lanes including side roads and side roads side by side.

Because there is no doubt that we will need such roads when we are building such an important airport and aiming to bring 90 million passengers to this airport in the beginning. Both the D-20, the motorway and their bypasses will have 26 lanes. ”

“We will have prepared a fifth corridor on the north-south axis”

Minister Arslan, referring to another ax, said:

“Another of our axes, when we provide the new airport-Odayeri highway connection, we will have opened a new connection and a new corridor to Mahmutbey and TEM via Başakşehir. Thus, we will climb up to 4 corridors in connection. As the fifth corridor, we have completed a fifth corridor, from Istanbul Airport to Arnavutköy, from there to Başakşehir, from there to TEM and E-5 at two points. We will have made a fifth corridor on the north-south axis when we open the airport. ”

Arslan stated that the airport will increase the need for roads with the transportation of 90 million passengers a year and 150 million passengers a year, and said, “We will have made two more connections for it. Within the scope of our ongoing Northern Marmara Motorways, we will connect another 2th corridor after 6 kilometers by completing the Kınalı connection until the end of 54. ” he spoke.

“It is important that the two airports in Istanbul are integrated with each other”

Referring to the studies related to rail transport Arslan, said:

“Our subway works continue from Gayrettepe to the new airport. Our TPM machines are now drilling tunnels. Also from the New Airport Halkalıor the metro works that will be integrated with the Marmaray Project started as construction. They continue on the one hand. Our goal is to complete the Gayrettepe connection within two years, to integrate with other rail systems in Istanbul, and the next year. Halkalıby finishing Halkalıto be integrated with Marmaray and High Speed Train (YHT) in the west direction. Thus, we will integrate projects as both road and rail systems.

In addition, we know that it will not be enough for Marmaray to serve only at night, with the end of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, so that the cargo movement from Central Asia and China can go to Europe. Therefore, starting from Gebze, a rail system in the north, from Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge to our New Airport, from there Halkalı will go to Europe from the direction, HalkalıWe have now brought our high speed train project works to be integrated with Kapıkule. Now it's time for the tender stage. Thus, we will be able to carry passengers from Sabiha Gökçen to the New Airport by high-speed train. It is important that the two airports in Istanbul are integrated with each other. ”

Arslan said that the works of the Tube, bridges and viaducts were continuing.
