Cooperation between Kosovo and Albania in Transportation

Cooperation in the Field of Transport between Kosovo and Albania: Albanian Transport and Infrastructure Minister Edmond Haxhinasto met with Kosovo Infrastructure Minister Lutfi Zharku within the framework of their official contacts in Pristina. The two ministers discussed rail and highway projects planned to be built between Kosovo and Albania.
Speaking at a joint press conference after the meeting, Kosovo minister Zharku said that today's meeting is one of the high-level meetings held within the scope of the modernization of communication between the two countries, and as the Kosovo side they are particularly interested in the construction of the "national highway" between the two countries.
Zharku, who also mentioned the planned railway between the two countries, emphasized that only the 17 kilometer of this project is within the borders of Kosovo, and that most of the line is within the borders of Albania. Zharku reported that they are open to all kinds of cooperation for railway construction.
Albanian Transport and Infrastructure Minister Haxhinasto said cooperation in the field of transport and infrastructure is essential for the integration of the two countries and the "European route".
Expressing that Albania and Kosovo are "strategic partners", Haxhinasto stressed that another issue that the two countries can cooperate with is the use of Albanian ports. Haxhinasto said a special package to encourage Kosovo businessmen to use Albanian ports more will be prepared by the relevant institutions soon.
